So Many Islands -- So Little Time!
The Caribbean is the world's largest cruise destination -- there are more cruise ships per port here than in any other destination. Perhaps that's because so many cruise travelers are looking for vacations with nearly year-around warm weather, welcoming white sand beaches with aquamarine waters, shopping bargains and a party atmosphere accentuated by calypso bands, and different cultural flavors. History has given the Caribbean islands American, British, Dutch, Spanish and French influences. Of course, if you want to flee the crowded ports with thousands of cruisers, there are Caribbean cruises off the beaten path, too.

Bermuda Cruises
Though many think otherwise, Bermuda is NOT part of the Caribbean. A Bermuda cruise is generally a 7-day itinerary from New York that includes a few days docked at this peaceful and quaint island thick with British heritage, allowing guests to explore and enjoy in more depth. Ports-of-call are usually Hamilton and/or St. George.
Cruises To The Caribbean : Three Basic Itineraries
The typical 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise itinerary departs from Florida and can include three or four ports of call in the Bahamas, San Juan, PR and the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas).
The 7-day Western Caribbean cruise itinerary also departs from Florida and includes three or four ports of call, usually in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the Mayan Riviera coast of Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel and/or Costa Maya).
The Southern Caribbean cruise itinerary, or Deep Caribbean, often departs from San Juan, PR, and includes islands further south like Barbados, Martinique, Curacao and/or Aruba. From the USA, airfare is a bit higher flying to San Juan than to Florida gateways, but the itinerary, which can also range from 7- to 14-days, reaches more exotic and compelling island choices.
Some of the larger cruise lines offer their own day on a private island as part of their Caribbean cruise itineraries. These include Disney Cruises, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruises. These are often a highlight of a Caribbean cruise, allowing guests to enjoy the island to themselves. Most offer activities from horsebackriding to wave riders.
Many Caribbean Cruise Line Choices
Many cruise lines operate cruises in the Caribbean, from sailing ships to mega-ships. The Caribbean is a premier showcase for the best in cruising: from the largest and newest mainstream cruise ships on the planet, like Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas or NCL Norwegian Epic, to new and exciting premier ships like Celebrity Cruise Line's Equinox. Smaller luxury ships from Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, Seabourn and SeaDream offer more diverse itineraries to less traversed ports.
With so many cruise ships in the Caribbean, pricing is often lower than other destinations, and competitive. Our cruise experts can arrange a Caribbean cruise that meets your needs best, along with any additional arrangements you might require: airfare, customized shore excursions, and pre- or post-hotel stays.
